When I told Nate I wanted to start a gym in Inkom, I was fresh in my own journey of learning what it meant to be healthy and fit. I was entering a different season in my health and fitness, and I knew the next step was not about me, but it was about helping other people through their struggle. Finding their strength to find their way to a happy, healthy, and a fit lifestyle. From day one, back in the garage at our house, with a single one-on-one client, to now… I am blessed to be a part of so many journeys.

I love my job. I am truly one of the lucky ones to be able to say those words with so much meaning.

Favorite food: Plain steamed broccoli with boiled chicken. Ummm…….. NOT EVEN! Come on, that’s not even real food!  I love pizza, ice cream, the menu at every Mexican restaurant, basically, food is amazing.  I believe in moderation. I tell our members all the time, You can have anything you want. The question you should ask yourself, is: SHOULD I? And sometimes… the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Always in moderation.  Fun food has it’s place and time, and should always fill the cracks and gaps in a healthy nutrition plan.
Favorite movie:  I am currently on my fourth, *update* FIFTH time through the entire seasons of Scandal.. I might have a problem. Sometimes I wish I was like Olivia Pope…. ‘Consider it handled.’
I can’t stand: Gah! When my kids ask me, ‘Mom! Where’s my shoes, bike, homework.?’ I just have learned to answer back, ‘They don’t fit me. I don’t ride it. It’s not mine.’
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I can’t stand the sound of people eating. Unless it is a loud room, I will find my way to sit as far away as possible from people, to not hear the sound. If someone chews with their mouth open…. let’s just say I would be in the yellow heart rate zone with my MyZone belt on!

I’ve been active my entire life. From high school sports, to hunting, hiking, fishing, and making sure to always be one step ahead of my two boys. I didn’t have an initial love or passion for coaching in the gym. Owning STS with Jen for years, working out, being a part of the STS family, I grew to love coaching. When I decided to join our team, I found my passion was helping our youth. I find fire in coaching our high school athletes, but let’s be honest, there is nothing like coaching a session of STS members, youth or not, our members bring FIRE to their workouts.
I love my wife, she is my rock. We are building something amazing, together, everyday.

Favorite Food: TACOS! If my wife would let us, we would have tacos for dinner 7 nights a week. We could even switch it up, beef, chicken, pork, hard shells, soft shells… tacos every night!
Favorite Movie: 8 Seconds. The only movie that brings a tear to my eye every time I see it. Who wouldn’t cry when Tuff get’s his jewels stepped on by a bull?! 😉
I can’t stand: When my wife tells ME how to eat, like I’m her kid!
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I like big butts, and I can not lie.

I started working with Jen and coaching at STS in 2014, and it has only gotten better and better since then! Wow have we come a long ways!  I’ll never forget my first workout in her garage and the excitement I felt when she told me we were moving into what we now call our home away from home! Solomon Training Systems! Being a part of STS and a part of our member’s lives is such a blessing!  I never consider what I do ‘work’ because it just simply doesn’t seem like work! There is so much joy in watching our members change their lives! Watching them work, progress, succeed, and change for the better is unexplainable! STS is truly something special! Just walking through the door will turn a frown upside down! 🙂

I was always active growing up dancing and doing drill team. I didn’t really get much into health and fitness until I was 25 or so, when I slowly started to realize I couldn’t eat Jr. Mints every day and not gain weight! Let’s be honest, nutrition is not one of my strong points!  I’m a BIG believer in a good brisk walk and drinking water. But nothing compares to a good workout at STS, and I am excited to work with every person who walks into the gym!

Favorite food: Mexican food! A big burrito or enchilada loaded with yummy melted cheese, sauce, and shredded chicken, served with chips and salsa. I’d eat that any day!
Favorite movie: I’m not a big movie buff…but I am a Candy Crush addict! So… is there a Candy Crush Movie?! 🙂
I can’t stand: Thinking of what to make for dinner! Trying to find well balanced meals that my kids will also eat is like a daily challenge for me. AGAIN!… Nutrition is NOT my strong point.. but, I’m working on it.;)
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I HATE ‘quick fixes’. Anything that seems too good to be true, most likely is. Don’t waste time and money on these things! Live a healthy lifestyle; move more, eat less, drink water, and you will be happier and healthier!

I’d like to believe that I’ve always been active at some level. From age 4 to 8 I danced and played soccer. By 4th grade, I had to decide between the two sports, for the next 10 years I played competitive soccer where I developed my quads and also a love for feeling fit.  My college and early adult years were only met with occasional trips to the gym, keeping to myself on the treadmill, elliptical and a few group aerobic classes. I attempted water aerobics when I was in the later stages of my twin pregnancy because that’s about all I could muster the energy for.
After my babies were born in 2010, I purchased a jogging stroller and walked a couple miles a couple times a week with very little weight loss . We moved to Inkom in 2013 when I took up running and ditched the 60 extra pounds of stroller and toddlers. Running and road biking got me 10 lbs lighter but I knew there was something missing. I joined STS and found a new love for lifting. I joined the STS team in 2017, learning and loving every day.
Favorite food: when I asked my kids what they thought, they answered ‘water’.😁. Ice cold water is in fact about the only thing on a non existent ‘favorites’ list. I don’t pick favorites, I’m an equal opportunity food eater….just no seafood please.
Favorite movie: Does my current Netflix obsession count? I usually watch an episode of my show, get through the series and start something new. I’m so boring.
I can’t stand: when my life gets so discombobulated that I don’t know where to start to get it back under control. I literally walk around in circles in my house deciding what has priority; cleanliness, feeding my family, laundry, exercise. My Type A brain struggles, so I go take a nap, that usually gets the most done 😆.

As a child I have always been full of life and energy; keeping my parents on their toes. This hasn’t changed through my life I continue to be energetic and keep my husband Travis and sometimes my kids on their toes. After I had my children my body changed (not for the better) and I needed to refocus my life, getting back to basics health and fitness. This is where I have always found my happiness. The human body is fascinating. It’s amazing what this machine can do.

Food: I enjoy food of all kinds, I love that part of growing my own food and creating beautiful dishes for my family. Grabbing some Mexican or a burger and sweet potato fries will put a big smile on my face.
Favorite Movie: My favorite movie is probably Practical Magic. “there is a little witch and all of us”. I also love Grey’s Anatomy, I never get sick of watching it. I can watch it over and over and over again and I have! Lol
What I can’t stand:  When people smacked their lips or chew with their mouth open.
What I shouldn’t say out loud: I’m kind of an open book… I say everything out loud. Lol
I love trees I think there’s some of the most beautiful things on planet ever. .

I grew up an active kid in a small town.  There were no fast food restaurants and I had daily chores on our farm that kept me busy.  So when I moved away from home to the “big city,” the convenience of fast food and being less active took over…..my whole body.  Before I knew it, my life became about my kids and I lost touch with myself and what was best for me.  It was a scary leap to make, to actually start thinking about myself and what I wanted.  Joining STS made it easy.  They were accepting and encouraging from the start.  Now, STS is my happy place!  I am so blessed that I get to be a part of the other members’ journeys as one of their POUND Pros.  I work a full time job outside of the gym so to be able to workout for a hour without realizing it because of the fun we are having is pure Magic!

Favorite Food:  I am a steak and potatoes gal.  This would be on the menu every week in my house, but I am learning that they have to be in moderation.
Favorite Movie:  I like Romantic Comedies.  They are lighthearted and you generally do not need to think too hard to follow the story.  And that is if I can stay awake for the whole thing!
I can’t stand:  waiting for people.  If you tell me you will be somewhere at a certain time or something will start at a certain time, it better happen.   If you are not early, you are late!
I shouldn’t say this:  I eat my food in layers!  When I have a spoonful of ice cream or pudding, I can’t just eat the whole spoonful.  I take a layer with my lips the first time and take the rest on a second go round.  Chocolate covered raisins…..the chocolate comes off first and then I eat the raisin.  It is weird, but usually not too noticeable.
