When I told Nate I wanted to start a gym in Inkom, I was fresh in my own journey of learning what it meant to be healthy and fit. I was entering a different season in my health and fitness, and I knew the next step was not about me, but it was about helping other people through their struggle. Finding their strength to find their way to a happy, healthy, and a fit lifestyle. From day one, back in the garage at our house, with a single one-on-one client, to now… I am blessed to be a part of so many journeys.

I love my job. I am truly one of the lucky ones to be able to say those words with so much meaning.

Favorite food: Plain steamed broccoli with boiled chicken. Ummm…….. NOT EVEN! Come on, that’s not even real food!  I love pizza, ice cream, the menu at every Mexican restaurant, basically, food is amazing.  I believe in moderation. I tell our members all the time, You can have anything you want. The question you should ask yourself, is: SHOULD I? And sometimes… the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Always in moderation.  Fun food has it’s place and time, and should always fill the cracks and gaps in a healthy nutrition plan.
Favorite movie:  I am currently on my fourth, *update* FIFTH time through the entire seasons of Scandal.. I might have a problem. Sometimes I wish I was like Olivia Pope…. ‘Consider it handled.’
I can’t stand: Gah! When my kids ask me, ‘Mom! Where’s my shoes, bike, homework.?’ I just have learned to answer back, ‘They don’t fit me. I don’t ride it. It’s not mine.’
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I can’t stand the sound of people eating. Unless it is a loud room, I will find my way to sit as far away as possible from people, to not hear the sound. If someone chews with their mouth open…. let’s just say I would be in the yellow heart rate zone with my MyZone belt on!

I’ve been active my entire life. From high school sports, to hunting, hiking, fishing, and making sure to always be one step ahead of my two boys. I didn’t have an initial love or passion for coaching in the gym. Owning STS with Jen for years, working out, being a part of the STS family, I grew to love coaching. When I decided to join our team, I found my passion was helping our youth. I find fire in coaching our high school athletes, but let’s be honest, there is nothing like coaching a session of STS members, youth or not, our members bring FIRE to their workouts.
I love my wife, she is my rock. We are building something amazing, together, everyday.

Favorite Food: TACOS! If my wife would let us, we would have tacos for dinner 7 nights a week. We could even switch it up, beef, chicken, pork, hard shells, soft shells… tacos every night!
Favorite Movie: 8 Seconds. The only movie that brings a tear to my eye every time I see it. Who wouldn’t cry when Tuff get’s his jewels stepped on by a bull?! 😉
I can’t stand: When my wife tells ME how to eat, like I’m her kid!
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I like big butts, and I can not lie.

I started working with Jen and coaching at STS in 2014, and it has only gotten better and better since then! Wow have we come a long ways!  I’ll never forget my first workout in her garage and the excitement I felt when she told me we were moving into what we now call our home away from home! Solomon Training Systems! Being a part of STS and a part of our member’s lives is such a blessing!  I never consider what I do ‘work’ because it just simply doesn’t seem like work! There is so much joy in watching our members change their lives! Watching them work, progress, succeed, and change for the better is unexplainable! STS is truly something special! Just walking through the door will turn a frown upside down! 🙂

I was always active growing up dancing and doing drill team. I didn’t really get much into health and fitness until I was 25 or so, when I slowly started to realize I couldn’t eat Jr. Mints every day and not gain weight! Let’s be honest, nutrition is not one of my strong points!  I’m a BIG believer in a good brisk walk and drinking water. But nothing compares to a good workout at STS, and I am excited to work with every person who walks into the gym!

Favorite food: Mexican food! A big burrito or enchilada loaded with yummy melted cheese, sauce, and shredded chicken, served with chips and salsa. I’d eat that any day!
Favorite movie: I’m not a big movie buff…but I am a Candy Crush addict! So… is there a Candy Crush Movie?! 🙂
I can’t stand: Thinking of what to make for dinner! Trying to find well balanced meals that my kids will also eat is like a daily challenge for me. AGAIN!… Nutrition is NOT my strong point.. but, I’m working on it.;)
I shouldn’t say this out loud: I HATE ‘quick fixes’. Anything that seems too good to be true, most likely is. Don’t waste time and money on these things! Live a healthy lifestyle; move more, eat less, drink water, and you will be happier and healthier!

I’d like to believe that I’ve always been active at some level. From age 4 to 8 I danced and played soccer. By 4th grade, I had to decide between the two sports, for the next 10 years I played competitive soccer where I developed my quads and also a love for feeling fit.  My college and early adult years were only met with occasional trips to the gym, keeping to myself on the treadmill, elliptical and a few group aerobic classes. I attempted water aerobics when I was in the later stages of my twin pregnancy because that’s about all I could muster the energy for.
After my babies were born in 2010, I purchased a jogging stroller and walked a couple miles a couple times a week with very little weight loss . We moved to Inkom in 2013 when I took up running and ditched the 60 extra pounds of stroller and toddlers. Running and road biking got me 10 lbs lighter but I knew there was something missing. I joined STS and found a new love for lifting. I joined the STS team in 2017, learning and loving every day.
Favorite food: when I asked my kids what they thought, they answered ‘water’.😁. Ice cold water is in fact about the only thing on a non existent ‘favorites’ list. I don’t pick favorites, I’m an equal opportunity food eater….just no seafood please.
Favorite movie: Does my current Netflix obsession count? I usually watch an episode of my show, get through the series and start something new. I’m so boring.
I can’t stand: when my life gets so discombobulated that I don’t know where to start to get it back under control. I literally walk around in circles in my house deciding what has priority; cleanliness, feeding my family, laundry, exercise. My Type A brain struggles, so I go take a nap, that usually gets the most done 😆.

I Love all things health and fitness and I enjoy being active one of my favorite quotes is “a body in motion, stays in motion” I took to running after participating in cross country in high school and I have been a runner ever since, it wasn’t until I was in college that I started lifting but it didn’t take me long to decide that it was a thing I wanted to do forever, I took a lot of fitness courses in college but it wasn’t something that was a career option at that time I continued to stay active and was eager to join STS after moving to Inkom I’m delighted to be a part of the STS team. I am thrilled to be able to live an active lifestyle and share my passion with others along the way.

FAVORITE FOOD: Surf n turf I love anything steak and seafood

FAVORITE MOVIE:
My favorite movie has always been and will always be super troopers I seriously laugh so hard every-time I watch it no matter how many times I have seen it

I CANT STAND: Repeating myself because someone wasn’t listening, I am gonna add curse words if I have to say it again

I SHOULDN’T SAY THIS OUT LOUD: What? There are things that shouldn’t be said out loud?

I have always loved to be active. I played sports at a young age and that continued on into high school sports. In college, I played in intramural leagues just for fun (even if my flag football game was at 11:30pm). I signed up for step aerobics and snowboarding for college credits. I love to exercise!! As a mother of four children now, exercise is crucial to keep up with them. I have discovered that I am a grumpy mama bear if I don’t move my body. I need exercise in my life! We have a pretty complete gym at home, but a few years ago I started to notice my workouts were less intense. I would slack off and give up early on my exercise plan for the day. A few friends suggested I just try out STS for a week and I loved it right from the beginning!! I joined and have never regretted it. STS has a different feel to it than your regular gym. It’s a place I come to see my friends and where everyone knows your name (cue the song to Cheers). I love being a coach and working with the members. They are there to work and better their lives. They are inspiring.

Favorite food: I LOVE shrimp!! 🍤Shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp, popcorn shrimp, garlic shrimp… I could have written Bubba Gump’s

lines in the movie, Forrest Gump. I am also a huge fan of Mexican food. Also a huge fan of a nice, chewy brownie… or a nice, warm homemade roll…I could go on and on. I love me some food!!

Favorite movie: anything with Chris in it. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Chris Pine, Chris Pratt… I’m surprised I didn’t name my first born Chris. But what gets turned on EVERY single night… The Office. We can quote every line of every show. We are addicted. Michael Scott would be my best friend. I know it.

I can’t stand: when people don’t replace the toilet paper!! Come on people! Even in a public restroom… do the right thing and tell the workers it’s gone. We should all be helping out our fellow humans have a great potty experience. Don’t leave them hanging.

I shouldn’t say this out loud: I secretly am terrified of most animals. What are they thinking? Are they out to get me?? I live in the country… and I don’t love animals. Please don’t tell anyone
